Where to stay near Quito airport

The Tababela hotels are 3–15 minutes away and start at $25. We're 40–50 minutes away and charge $10 — when each one is the right call, honestly.

Let's start with what almost no page tells you: we are not an airport hotel. We're in Carapungo, in the north of Quito, 40–50 minutes from the terminal off-peak. The Tababela and Puembo hotels that rank first on Google are 3–15 minutes away and many run a shuttle. If not missing your flight is the only thing that matters, book one of those.

What we are: a double room at $10 a night, in a real neighborhood, halfway between the airport and the city.

When staying here makes sense

When it doesn't

From the airport to Carapungo: taxi, or a $2 bus

By taxi it's that 40–50 minutes. From the airport's official taxi stands it costs around $20–24; booked through an app it usually comes to $13–17. Budget $15–25 and there will be no surprises.

By bus, the official airport service runs to the Carcelén terminal for $2, leaving roughly every 20 minutes, every day, and taking 45–50 minutes. It stops at the Carapungo interchange on the Panamericana — ask the driver to call the stop as you board. It's the cheapest way to reach us that exists, and almost nobody mentions it. The full detail, including the Ecovía and the Carcelén terminal, is in our guide on how to get here.

Arrivals and departures

Reception is open 07:00 to 24:00 every day. If your flight lands after midnight, message us on WhatsApp the same day and we'll wait up. Checkout is at 12:00, so an afternoon flight doesn't force you out at dawn. We don't have our own parking or an airport shuttle; we will arrange a taxi with a driver we trust if you let us know.

If you have a spare day

With a genuinely free day, the best thing from here is Mitad del Mundo: 20–30 minutes by car, or a direct bus from the interchange — far closer than it is from the airport. What to do near Carapungo covers the rest of the area.

Sleeping here

We're five rooms from $10 a night, with wifi and Netflix, at Diego Noboa OE10-187 y Javier Espinosa. Our location page has the map and the real travel times to every part of the city.
